Pack Eco-friendly on Your Next Vacation

Summer is full of travelers and families taking vacations. Many people take advantage of their time off and the warm months to travel to other areas and adventure. However, most people worry about what they need to pack and often don't want to forget anything. There are several ways to make packing easier, and more eco-friendly as you travel.

Beach Trip Towels

You might not even consider the difference in packing certain types of beach towels. Most people plan a beach trip and bring coolers, umbrellas, towels, etc. However, a simple eco-friendly switch to a microfiber towel helps to save water! Additionally, these towels give you more room because they pack small and dry quickly.

Solid Toiletries

Did you know? Solid shampoos, deodorants, soaps, etc. are easier to travel with. If you are flying, you don't have to worry about travel-size bottles or liquid limits. It also helps to keep anything from spilling all over your clothes in your suitcase. Solid toiletries last longer than liquids so they save you space, time, and money!

Reusable & Collapsible Containers!

Take reusable utensils with you. This saves you from reusing plastic ones, and will also ensure you always have what you need. Some hotels have plastic options, while in other places you have to go digging for kitchen utensils. Additionally, adding collapsible containers helps you utilize your dishes if you cook food on vacation. It doesn't take up too much space either because they can store flat!

Light Clothing

One tip to pack lighter and less for long trips is to bring outfits that you can mix and match. Choose pieces that can be swapped with one another to create new outfits on a different day. This makes you have fewer clothes to pack, and you can do laundry depending on where you stay. Use an eco-friendly laundry tab to wash your clothes and this is better for the environment when it washes down the water systems.

Natural Products

As mentioned above, natural, eco-friendly products are usually more efficient for travel. Using natural insect repellent and reef-safe sunscreen is also important to help the environment. This doesn't change the space you might pack in your suitcase, but it switches your normal, chemically-filled to eco-friendly products instead.

There are many alternatives to regular products you use daily. Face washes, paper towels, and other items have eco-friendly versions that make it easier to travel and use less. Switching out for solid toiletries and towels instead of paper products helps to save and leaves more storage in your luggage.
